PARC was built by and for the Parkdale community. For over 45 years, we have opened our doors to anyone who needs support — no referral, no diagnosis, no proof of need required. If you are struggling, you belong here.
We work alongside people who are often underserved or excluded from mainstream services, offering a low-barrier, harm reduction approach that meets people where they are.
PARC supports people who are experiencing or at risk of:
Housing Instability & Homelessness People who are unhoused, at risk of eviction, living in shelters, or in unstable housing situations. PARC provides housing search support, eviction prevention, and long-term supportive housing options.
Mental Health Challenges People living with depression, anxiety, psychosis, trauma, or other mental health conditions. PARC offers peer support, case management, and connections to mental health services — in a community where lived experience is respected and valued.
Substance Use Challenges People managing substance use, whether in recovery or not. PARC operates from a harm reduction model, meaning we support people without requiring abstinence or participation in any particular program.
Poverty & Food Insecurity People facing financial hardship, difficulty accessing benefits, or struggling to meet basic needs. PARC serves two meals daily and connects members to income support, financial trusteeship, and employment programs.
Social Isolation People who are disconnected from community, family, or support networks. PARC’s Drop-In is a place to belong — a space to build friendships, participate in activities, and feel part of something.
Our Approach: PARC believes that people with lived experience of mental health, substance use, homelessness, and poverty are experts in their own lives. That’s why our members shape our programs, our governance, and our day-to-day community life.
We don’t define people by their challenges. We see the whole person — and we walk alongside them.
A Note on Inclusion: PARC is committed to being an inclusive, anti-oppressive space. We welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, cultures, and abilities. Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated in our community.
