What PARC Means to Me: Waylon

As we celebrate 45 years of PARC, we’re excited to continue sharing PARC Stories, highlighting what PARC truly means to our members. This month, we’re featuring Waylon’s story.

How did you first get involved in PARC?

My roommate introduced me to PARC, I live in Parkdale.

What activities or programs do you participate in at PARC?

Going to camp, I like being back in nature, back to what I grew up with…back to home.

What Does PARC mean to you?

It’s a community where I can meet people, a place to hang around. It feels like home now. Its for the people and that’s why I come.

How has being a part of PARC impacted your life?

Keeps me active and doing stuff during the day. It also keeps me wanting to do more of my art, I like wood carving, painting working with many mediums. Coming here makes me just want to do more, I like coming for the live music too.

What would you like the community to know about PARC?

I want the community to know, it’s not a bad place- like most people would think it is but its really a wonderful place. They help people and what I like.
