What PARC Means to Me: Amanda

As we celebrate 45 years of PARC, we’re excited to continue sharing PARC Stories, highlighting what PARC truly means to our members. This month, we’re featuring Amanda.

When did you first start coming to PARC? 

  • About 3 years ago 

What activities or programs do you participate in at PARC? 

  • I like to come in for the drop-in and open mic 

What does PARC mean to you?  

  • It is a comradery of community 
  • A safe space and makes you feel welcomed when you have nowhere to go
  • I like the coffee 

How has being part of PARC impacted your life? 

  • It is a positive factor in the struggles of homelessness especially during winter. Wish it was opened later during winter. 

What would you like the community to know about PARC? 

  • PARC is very inviting and comforting to come in to communicate with people and have food to eat  
  • The resource centre is very beneficial 

Something you think is special about PARC? 

  • Very consistent and helpful.
