PARC celebrates the release of “Let’s Face It: Writing and Artwork from the Parkdale Activity and Recreation Centre”. Ten years in the making, this volume of more than 100 poems and 16 vivid paintings by PARC members and friends chronicles the life of this vibrant and creative Toronto west-end drop-in community.
Let’s Face It evokes “something of the multiform character of the PARC community – a creative expression of our journey through pain, despair, hope, joy, friendship, struggle” writes editor Hume Cronyn. This volume allows for members of this community to speak of these experiences in their own unique way.
Join PARC in celebrating the release of “Let’s Face It” at the Parkdale Community Centre at 1499 Queen St. West from 6:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday November 25th. Meet PARC members and supporters of its community and enjoy an evening of music, art and poetry readings from the newly released book.
