Urgent Needs
The following are some are some of the urgent needs at PARC. Please contact us through the site, or talk to someone at PARC to discuss any of these opportunities further. Thank you!
- Purchasing Goods Facilitator. Purchasing mugs and cutlery at second hand stores (or a supplier that has good rates). Read more about the position here.
- Computer Teacher. A volunteer to run the computer class. Need to have good knowledge of MS Office package and ability to teach adults. Many PARC members have very limited computer knowledge and are willing for someone to help them.
- Internet Cafe Supervisor. Volunteers to run the internet cafe next to the drop-in area. The Internet cafe is open 4 hrs every day when the drop-in is open.
- Kitchen Assistant. Kitchen Volunteer assists the Peer Kitchen Crew Leader/Food Service Program Chef in ensuring the smooth functioning of the PARC drop-in centre’s daily food service. Read more about the position here.
- Piano teacher. Someone who knows piano in a way to teach members to start playing. We have a piano in the Drop-in area.
- Certified Therapy Dog. Individuals who wish to provide health care-oriented volunteer service within PARC using their dog to assist. Volunteers and their dogs are generally expected to provide weekly 15 minutes of visitation per member, which is the minimum to create a bond between the member and the dog.
