Parkdale Activity Recreation Centre

Much of the PARC Board’s energy this past year was spent on the completion of Edmond Place. At the beginning of the calendar year people with severe housing issues began moving in. The transition for some has been difficult at times but is definitely successful so far.

We are extremely proud of how things are moving along. Edmond Place now has some of its own staff comprised of PARC members. The apartments are clean and well maintained. The community art throughout the building enhances the feeling of well being.

Now that Edmond Place is operational, the Board is turning its focus back to PARC itself. We have a full complement of caucus and community members. The cacus has been focusing on streamlining their mechanisms and has been bringing issues to the board as a whole for discussion.

We continue to get community support from organizations like Design Hope and the Boulevard Club and continue to make contact with local businesses and residents.

In 2012 we will be looking at the organization of PARC as well as doing succession planning.

We are happy to be a part of PARC and we are looking forward to another productive and successful year in 2012.
